Okay.
I've finished my job, though the temp agency says they have another one I might be able to start next wednesday. Until then, I'm going to be working my butt off on the books. I want to get a couple more writing samples up here. It's been a while since the last one, mostly because nothing has been coming to me. I'm also going to be working hard on getting updated character pictures drawn up, as well as character sheets I'll post here, since the scanner will be here at this house by the second week of January. My figure drawing has gotten much better recently, so my next batch of pictures should be quite good. I know I've heard that people find it helpful to see pictures of the characters from my eyes, rather than trying to picture them themselves. That's why I really want to do my own cover art, so the whole world can see the characters through my eyes. I also really want to have illustrations in the books, like older fantasy novels used to have - a character or setting drawing at the beginning of each chapter, or a bunch stuck together in the middle. There are certain places, or poses, or things like that that are very particular in my mind, and would want everyone else to be able to see them the same way. Not to mention it would help assure accuracy if my books ever become movies. I don't really know when I'll be getting back to writing the actual book. And I'm still debating whether or not to post any of it up here. If that's what it takes to keep people's interest, then I'll probably do it. Megatokyo has proven you can have the entire product online and still sell millions of hard copies in stores. But I would really like to have most of it all a surprise within the books, which is also why it's difficult for me to post writing samples. I'll get really great ones, but as I'm typing them, I realize an important plot point is given away that would make other parts of the story not so surprising or emotional. But, considering I've already got people interested just from reading what I have here, I'm keeping my hopes high. Hopefully by this time next year, the first book will be going through the publishing phase or already on the shelf.
